A gallery is like a photo album, but instead of being viewed on paper the images are displayed on a computer, TV or large screen. Most albums display a number of thumbnail images (very small versions of the image), that when the user clicks on them, they open up the full image. The transitions form image to image can be a simple fade or even an animated page curl book effect. Galleries are normally produced for the Internet or a computer - where the user controls what they want to see by clicking their mouse. For this reason galleries are not normally produced for DVD.
Their purpose is twofold; first they illustrate the type of galleries that can be produced, and secondly, they illustrate our photography.
